Pioneers Host UW-Platteville Invitational
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field teams hosted the UW-Platteville Invitational over the past two days and welcomed in competition from many schools in the area, including several WIAC foes. The Pioneers put together several strong finishes in multiple events at the two-day meet.

Men's Highlights
In the 5000m run on Friday night, sophomore Caden Schneider ran a personal-best time of 14:34.83 to finish 23 overall in the crowded field of 187 runners. The time was over 20 seconds faster than his previous best time from earlier this season.
Also on Friday night, senior Justin Eichler won the hammer throw with a pair of tosses of 62.80m. His winning mark was over four meters further than the runner-up in the event. Eichler also took third in the discus at 47.06m.
Sophomore McKade Jelinek recorded a pair of PRs at the meet, including a seventh-place finish in the shot put at 16.05m. His best finish on the day was a second-place mark in the discus at 51.95m. He also took 13th in the hammer throw at 48.79m for his second PR of the meet.
Sophomore Justin Behnke won the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:06.28. Sophomore Christopher Wier was the runner-up in the event at 10:13.24.
Senior Cade VanHout won the 100m dash behind a time of 10.573. He narrowly won the event as the second-place finisher posted a time of 10.577. VanHout also placed eighth in the 200m at 22.20 seconds.
Junior Zach Zenner took second in the 400m with a personal-best time of 48.78 seconds. Junior Spencer Vanek came in fifth in the event at 49.37 seconds.
Senior Daniel Inyang matched his personal-best in the high jump at 2.03m. That mark was good for third in the event.
In the javelin, junior Samuel LaPean placed fourth overall at 50.58m. Freshman Trevor Schulz came in fifth in the pole vault at 4.43m.
The Pioneers 4x400 relay team of Vanek, Kaeden Weberpal, James Ketterer, and Zenner placed fourth among 25 teams with a time of 3:16.64.
The Pioneers had a pair of top-six finishers in the 110m hurdles, with freshmen Connor Vierck (15.89) and Isaiah Martinez (15.98) placing fifth and sixth, respectively.
Women's Highlights
Senior Jessica Buss finished third overall in the field of 19 in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.31.
Junior Brenna Noon placed third in the shot put with a mark of 13.45m on her second throw of the day. The toss was just shy of her season-best of 13.47m.
In the high jump, freshman Hailey Campbell set a new personal-best at 1.68m. That mark was good enough for third place among the 33 competitors in the event.
The Pioneers had a pair of relay teams take fifth overall at the meet. The 4x100m relay team of Caitlynn Hahn, Kayla Lipsey, Alexis Healey, and Elianna Dalamangas recorded a time of 48.91 seconds to take fifth out of 11 teams. In the 4x400m relay, Margaret Rusch, Lipsey, Buss, and Dalamangas ran a 4:02.52 to also take fifth.
Sophomore Hayley Wuebben set a new PR in the pole vault at 2.93m, which earned her seventh place in the event. Freshman Evelyn Troxel finished ninth in the event at 2.78m.
Dalamangas also finished ninth overall in the triple jump, with her best jump of 11.12m coming on her first attempt of the day.
