Kleimenhagen Inducted Into USTFCCCA Hall of Fame
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Former University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field athlete Ryan Kleimenhagen was one of six new inductees into the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III Collegiate Athlete Hall of Fame on Thursday.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Former University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field athlete Ryan Kleimenhagen was one of six new inductees into the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III Collegiate Athlete Hall of Fame on Thursday.
Kleimenhagen becomes the third Pioneer to be inducted into the USTFCCCA Division III Hall of Fame, joining Paul Conlin (2021) and Marcia Taddy (2022).
Kleimenhagen, who was inducted into the UW-Platteville Athletic Hall of Fame in 2020, was one of the most decorated athletes in school history. He was an All-American 13 times – three in cross country, five in indoor track and field, and five in outdoor track. Kleimenhagen held 11 school records in his career and was a four-time national Indoor Track Champion. He won the 1,500-meter run and anchored the championship record setting distant medley relay in 2004 before winning the mile and 800-meter in 2005. Kleimenhagen won the 2002 and 2003 Regional Cross Country title and was named the 2005 Indoor Regional and National Athlete of the Year.
The four-time UW-Platteville male athlete of the year was also named the 2005 WIAC Max Sprangler Scholar-Athlete. After graduation, Kleimenhagen ran professionally and qualified for the USATF Outdoor Championships in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter races.
