Pioneers Host UW-Platteville Invitational Saturday
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field teams hosted the UW-Platteville Invitational on Saturday afternoon and recognized seniors at the meet as well. The Pioneers women’s team won the meet with 171 points, while the men took second with 139 points.

Women's Highlights
The Pioneers claimed the top four spots in the 60m hurdles, led by freshman Hailey Campbell's first-place finish at 9.39 seconds. Senior Kayla Lipsey (9.41), freshman Danielle Mauhar (9.76) and sophomore Delanee Klaas (9.82) followed close behind.
Freshman Elianna Dalamangas posted a new PR in the 60m with a second-place time of 8.05. Junior Shannon Wulf (4th – 8.13) and junior Caitlynn Hahn (5th – 8.23) also scored in the event.
Freshman Kendra Downing won the mile behind a time of 5:43.55. Sophomore Paige Guttman (5:49.24) and freshman Ava Garrard (5:52.33) took second and third, respectively.
In the 400m, junior Margaret Rusch placed second at 1:00.98. Senior Jessica Buss (1:02.52) and junior Lindsey Barnes (1:04.44) were right behind for third and fourth.
Senior Kayla Lipsey finished second in the 200m with a mark of 26.89. In the 800m, sophomore Leah Digmann placed third at 2:25.64.
Junior Brenna Noon finished top three in both throws events, including a second-place finish in the shot put at 13.38m. She took third in the weight throw at 14.96m.
Senior Alexis Healey won the long jump with a season-best mark of 5.17m. Junior Shannon Wulf came in second with a leap of 4.72m. In the high jump, freshman Hailey Campbell set a new personal-best at 1.60m, while in the triple jump, junior Lizzie Andrews (10.08m) and sophomore Malina Koepp (9.63m) finished second and fourth, respectively/
Sophomore Emma Egnoski posted a fourth-place finish in the pole vault at 3.02m while freshman Evelyn Troxel came in fifth at 2.87m.
Men's Highlights
Senior Cade VanHout won the 60m with a time of 6.84 seconds. The time was just .01 seconds off a Pioneers school record. VanHout also competed in the 200m, and finished second with a time of 22.32. Junior Spencer Vanek (22.66) took fourth in the 200m, while freshman Kaeden Weberpal (22.76) was sixth.
The Pioneers had a strong showing in the 5000m, led by junior Jakob Eggen's first-place time of 15:28.27. Freshman Zachary Sporaa (2nd – 15:32.83), senior Riley Coulter (4th – 15:39.19), and sophomore Isaiah Kruckman (5th – 15:53.28) followed close behind.
In the 800m, sophomore Joshua Stone placed second with a time of 2:00.65. Freshman Paul Pfeifer was just behind at 2:00.99 for third.
Freshman Isaiah Martinez took fourth in the 60m hurdles at 9.01. In the mile, freshman Max Sporaa took seventh at 4:36.60.
Sophomore James Ketterer placed third in a pair of events at the meet. He ran a 50.31 in the 400m and leapt 13.45m in the triple jump.
Senior Justin Eichler won the weight throw with a toss of 19.57m. In the shot put, senior Nicholas Walechka finished fourth at 14.22m, while freshman Cohen Pfohl (14.14m) and sophomore McKade Jelinek (13.88) placed fifth and sixth, respectively.
Freshman Trevor Schulz won the pole vault at 4.33m. Junior Kyle Lang came in fifth at 4.03m.
