Pioneers Compete At St. Olaf Saturday

Men's Highlights
The Pioneers men's team finished with 95 points to finish second out of 11 teams competing at the meet. Bethel tallied 99 points to take first, with St. Olaf coming in third with 83 points.
Senior Cade VanHout won the 60m dash with a strong time of 6.86 seconds. Freshman Nathan Jacobs also scored in the 60m with a fifth-place time of 7.13 seconds.
VanHout and junior Dylan Miller both scored in the 200m, led by VanHout's fourth-place time of 23.04 seconds. Miller was close behind at 23.49 for sixth.
Three Pioneers scored in the 3000m, with freshman Zachary Sporaa taking second behind a time of 8:53.62. Senior Troy Humpal came in fourth at 8:58.66 followed by junior Joey Madsen, who placed seventh at 9:04.29.
Sophomore James Ketterer helped UW-Platteville score in three different events, including his first-place 12.93m leap in the triple jump. Ketterer also took fifth in the 400m at 52.12 and joined sophomore Alex Geissler, freshman Connor Curry, and junior Zach Zenner in the 4x400. The team took second with a time of 3:25.82.
Zenner placed second in the 800m, running a time of 1:57.32. Geissler also competed in the event and took sixth at 2:00.87.
In the mile, freshman Spencer Thiry finished fifth, posting a time of 4:39.24. Sophomore Paul Treiber came in seventh at 4:43.64.
Senior Justin Eichler led a strong group of throwers with a first-place finish in the weight throw at 18.98m. Junior Samuel LaPean took sixth in the event, with sophomore McKade Jelinek placing seventh. In the shot put, freshman Cohen Pfohl finished fifth at 13.43m, followed by Jelinek's seventh place throw of 13.34m.
Freshman Trevor Schulz earned a third-place finish in the pole vault with a mark of 4.45m. Junior Kyle Lang placed fifth in the event at 4.20m.
Women's Highlights
The Pioneers women's team totaled 52 points at the meet, good for fifth out of 12 teams. Gustavus Adolphus posted 116.5 points to win, followed by St. Olaf with 108.5 points.
Senior Natalie Kreier picked up a win in the 3000m behind a time of 10:50.19. In the 400m, junior Margaret Rusch tallied a third-place finish at 1:00.52.
Freshman Elianna Dalamangas scored in a pair of events for UW-Platteville, highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the 60m at 8.13 seconds. She also took seventh in the 200m with a time of 27.05 seconds.
Senior Jessica Buss and freshman Ava Garrard each earned seventh-place marks in their respective events. Buss ran a 1:45.25 in the 600m, while Garrard crossed the line in 3:23.07 in the 1000m.
Junior Brenna Noon finished top three in both throwing events at the meet, including a toss of 12.63m in the shot put to take second. She also threw a 15.92m mark in the weight throw to take third.
In the triple jump, junior Lizzie Andrews finished fourth with a leap of 10.05m. Sophomore Malina Koepp also scored in the event with a fifth-place finish at 9.54m. In the long jump, senior Alexis Healey placed sixth at 5.07m.
The Pioneers 4x400 relay team of senior Jenna Guddie, sophomore Leah Digmann, freshman Kendra Downing, and Garrard wrapped up the day with a sixth-place finish. The group ran a time of 4:42.92.
