Track And Field Begins Indoor Season Saturday

Men's Highlights
Senior Cade VanHout picked up a win in the 55-meter dash, running a 6.39. Freshman Kaeden Weberpal and junior Dylan Miller each ran a 6.75 in the same event to take fifth and sixth, respectively. Weberpal also finished third in the 200m at 23.16 seconds.
In the 400-meter, sophomore James Ketterer took first with a time of 52.56 seconds. Sophomore Alex Geissler placed fifth at 52.94 seconds.
The Pioneers placed two in the top three of the mile, led by sophomore Caden Schneider's second-place time of 4:19.45. Senior Caleb Christiansen came in third at 4:20.49.
Freshman Dylan Powell came in fourth in the 800m with a time of 2:03.75. In the 55-meter hurdles, freshman Brecken Heinrichs placed fifth at 8.56 seconds.
In the field events, Ketterer won the triple jump with a leap of 12.87 meters. A pair of freshmen in Devon Dorn and Mason Leeser put together solid jumps in the long jump, with Dorn placing third at 6.18 meters. Leeser was fourth at 6.13 meters.
Freshman Trevor Schulz placed third in the pole vault at 4.16 meters. Sophomore Gunner Katzenmeyer was right behind for fourth with a mark of 3.88 meters.
Senior Justin Eichler took third in the weight throw behind an 18.92-meter toss. In the shot put, senior Nicholas Walechka finished fifth at 15.09 meters.
Women's Highlights
The Pioneers put together a strong showing in the 400, led by Margaret Rusch's winning time of 1:02.14. Sophomore Leah Digmann placed fourth with a time of 1:05.76, while junior Lindsey Barnes took fifth at 1:06.63.
Freshman Elianna Dalamangas posted a fourth-place finish in her first collegiate 200 meter with a time of 27.23 seconds. Dalamangas also won the triple jump at the meet with a leap of 10.78 meters. Junior Lizzie Andrews placed third in the triple jump at 9.88 meters.
Senior Kayla Lipsey finished sixth in both the 55-meter dash (8.07 seconds) and 55-meter hurdles (9.08 seconds). Junior Shannon Wulf finished just ahead of Lipsey in the 55-meter dash for fifth at 7.64 seconds.
Wulf also competed in the long jump, finishing third with a leap of 4.82 meters. Senior Alexis Healey was one place behind for fourth at 4.76 meters.
Freshman Hailey Campbell took second place in the high jump at 1.58 meters. In the pole vault, freshman Evelyn Troxzel came in fourth at 3.03 meters.
Junior Brenna Noon opened her season by winning the shot put at 13.39 meters. She also placed eighth in the weight throw with a toss of 13.83 meters.
