Bierman soars over 2.05m (6-8.75) at home invite
Platteville, Wis. - The Pioneer track and field team hosted the UW-Platteville Invitational on Saturday, February 12. Among several other great performances, Williams Fieldhouse erupted in excitement when senior Bryce Bierman cleared 2.05m (6-8.75). Bierman ranks sixth in the national ranking with that clearance.

Among several other great performances, Williams Fieldhouse erupted in excitement when senior Bryce Bierman cleared 2.05m (6-8.75). Bierman ranks eighth in the national ranking with that clearance.
In addition to Bierman's national ranking high jump performance, senior Gwen Orr continued to see personal best times in the 60m dash. She improved her school record to 7.76 seconds, shaving off 0.01 from last weekend's performance. Orr ranks tenthing in national standings. The 4x400m team of Spencer Vanek, Jacob Downing, Cade VanHout, and Zach Zenner ran 3:22.42 together for the first time, winning the meet decisively.
During the invitational, the Pioneers were raising awareness for Special Olympics Wisconsin. On Saturday, February 19, many Pioneer student-athletes from across all teams at UW-Platteville will be jumping in Lake Monona in Madison, Wisconsin at the annual Polar Plunge. Next Friday, Febuary 18, the Pioneer track and field team will be competing at the University of Dubuque in preparation for the WIAC Indoor Conference Championships which will be hosted at UW-Platteville on February 25-26. For details visit letsgopioneers.com.

Pioneer Men
Zach Zenner – Won the 400m dash with a personal best time of 50.07.
Tyler Doering – Placed third in the 800m with a time of 2:00.93.
Caleb Christiansen – Took fourth with a time of 15:42.19 in the 5,000m.
Evan Klinkner – Placed third in the pole vault with a jump of 4.30m (14-1.25).
Ben Veverka – Won the weight throw with 17.14m (56-30), and took third in the shot put with 14.58m (47-10).
Pioneer Women
Kaitlyn Galgon – Won the mile in a personal best time of 5:15.11.
Alexis Healey – Took third with a personal best long jump of 5.12m (16-9.75).
Kelli Schneider – Placed fourth in triple jump with a mark of 10.51m (34-5.75).
Lizzie Andrews – Jumped a personal best in triple jump, leaping 10.39m (34-1.25).
Brianna Leahy – Continued to dominate shot put, marking 14.45m (47-5).
Paulina Wienke – Launched a personal best in the weight throw, measuring 16.09m (52-9.5) for third place.
4x400m – The team of Jessica Buss, Lindsey Barnes, Kirstie Ramsey, and Kaitlyn Galgon placed second with a time of 4:13.81.
