VanHout and Orr demolish 60m school records at Wartburg Select
Waverly, Iowa – The Pioneer track and field team competed at the Wartburg Select Meet. The two-day event included a pentathlon and heptathlon beginning on Friday, February 4 and concluded with the full schedule on Saturday, February 5. Two school records were broken by Gwen Orr and Cade VanHout.

Grace Elvert scored 3,124 points in her first pentathlon of the season, obtaining personal best times and marks in all 5 of the events that comprise the pentathlon. This ranks her second in the conference, 13th in the nation, and fifth on the Pioneer All-Time Top Ten List.
Jacob Rice, Hunter Liddell, and Dominic Wiebelhaus competed in the heptathlon. Rice scored 3,894 points, and Liddell and Wiebelhaus debuted in their first hepathlon scoring 3,867 and 3,734 respectively.
Senior Gwen Orr and junior Cade VanHout paired up to break two school records. Orr broke the women's 60m dash record in the finals, running 7.77 seconds for second place. Orr's time ranks 7th in the national rankings, 2nd in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). VanHout broke the men's 60m dash record running 6.84 seconds to win the event. Vanhout's time ranks 5th in the national rankings, 4th in the WIAC.
The Pioneers will host next weekend, Saturday, February 12, the UW-Platteville Invitational at Williams Fieldhouse. A full schedule of events and more information can be found at letsgopioneers.com.

Pioneer Women
Grace Elvert – Won the pentathlon with a score of 3,124 points with five new personal best marks.
Gwen Orr – Second place, school record time of 7.77 seconds in the 60m dash. Second place in the 200m dash with a time of 25.60 seconds.
Kaitlyn Galgon – Won the mile with a personal best time of 5:20.29.
Jordan Meciej – Won the pole vault with a jump of 3.45m (11-3.5).
Brianna Leahy – Won the shot put with a throw of 14. 35m (47-1).
Pioneer Men
Cade VanHout – First place, school record time of 6.84 seconds in the 60m dash. Placed second in the 200m dash with a personal best time of 22.51.
Cole Stugelmeyer – Placed second in the 60m hurdles with a personal best 8.44 seconds, and ran 7.29 in the 60m dash.
Daniel Inyang – Jumped a lifetime personal best in the high jump, clearing 2.00m (6-8.75).
Jarrod Vis and Evan Klinkner – Finished in first and second place respectively in the pole vault, both clearing 4.25m (13-11.25).
Ben Veverka – Won the weight throw with a personal best of 17.31m (56-9.5), and placed third in the shot put with 14.56m (47-9.25).
