Leahy and Orr drop school records at Spartan Invite
Dubuque, Iowa - The Pioneers competed at the University of Dubuque Spartan Invitational on Saturday, January 29 where two Pioneer women broke school records. Brianna Leahy threw a historic distance in the shot put, marking a throw of 14.84m (48-8.25). Gwen Orr ran 25.56 seconds in the 200m dash, breaking her own record by 0.01 second.

Brianna Leahy threw a historic distance in the shot put, marking a throw of 14.84m (48-8.25). Gwen Orr ran 25.56 seconds in the 200m dash, breaking her own record by 0.01 second.
Leahy won the shot put, and made her way into the record books in Pioneer Athletics and beyond. Her throw of 14.84m ranks 20th on the all-time list for indoor shot put in NCAA DIII history. Currently, Leahy leads the national rankings in the shot put, with next furthest shot put coming from fellow conference competitor Skye Digman from UW-La Crosse.

Pioneer Women
Brenna Noon - The freshman placed third in the shot put with a throw of 13.15m (43-1.75).
Gwen Orr - Won both the 60m dash final (7.86 sec) as well as the 200m dash (25.56sec).
Kaitlyn Galgon - Placed second in the 800m with a time of 2:16.91.
Kirsite Ramsey - Ran 2:21.69 in the 800m to take third place.
Jessica Buss - Ran 2:29.59 in the 800m to take fifth place.
Caitlin Gorge - Finished the mile in 5:32.29 for third place.
Kayla Lipsey - Finished the 60m hurdle finals in 10.08 seconds to set a new personal record.
Pioneer Men
Cade VanHout - Took second in the 60m dash final (6.94 sec), and finished in 22.267 seconds for fourth place in the 200m dash.
Bryce Bierman - Won the high jump with 2.01m (6-7).
Jarrod Vis - Took second in the pole vault with a PR of 4.10m (13-5.25).
Hunter Liddel - Took third in the pole vault with a PR of 3.95m (12-11.5).
Adam Wilman - Won the long jump with 6.84m (22-5.25).
Weston Pink - Took second in the triple jump with 13.39m (43-11.25)
Alex Girard - Won the weight throw with 17.76m (58-3.25).

The Pioneers will travel to Waverly, Iowa next weekend to compete at the Wartburg College Select Meet. The two day event will include the pentathlon for the women and heptathlon for the men with competition beginning on Friday, February 4.
