Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Receive All-Academic Honors
The UW-Platteville Men’s and Women’sTrack and Field teams were acknowledged by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as All-Academic Teams.

The UW-Platteville Men's and Women'sTrack and Field teams were acknowledged by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as All-Academic Teams.
For the third straight year, the Pioneer Women's team was named All-Academic Team after earning a cumulative grade point average of 3.117 on a 4.0 scale. Teams needed to accomplish a cumulative GPA of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for the recognition. The Pioneer Men received the award after earning a cumulative GPA of 3.235.
All-Academic Honors were also given to student-athletes that have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and were ranked in the top-50 individually or top-35 in a relay event at the completion of the season. Four men and four women from the UW-Platteville Track and Field teams earned All-Academic honors.
Devan Montgomery earned her second All-Academic honor. The junior transfer won the WIAC title in the outdoor 800 meters and was part of the outdoor national qualifying 4x400 meter relay.
Indoor and outdoor WIAC Champion Megan Marotz earned All-Academic honors with her performances in the indoor pentathlon and outdoor heptathlon. Marotz finished 6th at the Indoor NCAA Championships to earn All-American honors.
Sophomore Brittany Ehlen earned her first All-Academic honor after finishing the indoor season ranked 28th in the nation with a school record pole vault of 11' 10" (3.61m).
Chelsey Heiden earned her first track All-Academic honor after having earned All-Academic honors for Cross Country in the fall. Heiden finished the season ranked 25th in the indoor 5,000 meters with a time of 17:28.34.
On the men's side, sophomore Zach Lee earned his second track All-Academic honor. Lee finished the outdoor season ranked 31st in both the 800 meters (1:52.16) and 1500 meters (3:52.52).
Greg Stribling was part of the Indoor All-American 4x400 meter relay which earned him his first All-Academic honor.
Noah Steiner earned his first All-Academic honors with his 39th national ranking in the indoor high jump. His best jump of the season was 6' 6 3/4" (2.00m)
Walker Rynes finished the year ranked 30th in the 10,000 meters earning him his first All-Academic honor. Rynes finished second to Ian LaMere at the WIAC Championships in the event and ran a season best 30:55.49.
