Pioneers show success at UW-Platteville Select
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The Pioneers held the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Select at Williams Fieldhouse on Saturday and once again saw many excellent performances throughout the day.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The Pioneers held the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Select at Williams Fieldhouse on Saturday and once again saw many excellent performances throughout the day.
Women
After qualifying for finals, Krysta Parson finished the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.18, good enough for third place overall.
Amber Williams continued her success as she finished second in the 200-meter dash after racing for a time of 26.61.
Williams also saw success in the triple jump with a second place finish of 11.43 meters.
With a time of 2:24.30, Ashlynne Wampfler finished third in the 800-meter run.
The Pioneers nearly set the pace in the 3000-meter run as Chelsey Heiden and Kiera Depies took second and third with times of 10:38.33 and 10:52.56, respectively.
Senior Caitlin Thomson made her way to the 60-meter hurdles finals with a time of 9.48 seconds and finished second overall with a finish of 9.44.
Thomson also finished third in the high jump with a leap of 1.65 meters, but it was the Pioneers' Alyssa Iserman who cleared the highest bar with a jump of 1.68 meters, good enough for first place.
The 4x200 team of Kelsey Reed, Parson, Briana Iwans, and Williams finished well ahead of their opponents as they took first with a time of 1:48.35.
Men
The men ran their best in the long distance events as Chris Czech finished second in the 3000-meter run with a time of 8:57.28 and Ian LaMere ran the 5000-meter in a time of 14:41.42 to finish second as well.
In the high jump it was Pioneers' Matt Dwyer who took second with a clearance of 4.86 meters.
Darrell Simms lept a distance of 13.24 meters in the triple jump, which earned him a third place finish.
Kyle Whaley threw the best for the Pioneers as he finished third in the shot put with a toss of 15.54 meters and third again in the weight throw with a distance of 16.23 meters.
The Pioneers will head on over to Dubuque, Iowa on Feb. 20 for the UD Spartan Invite.
