Dillman, LaMere and Valley Earn All-American Honors
UW-Platteville senior Deidre Dillman, freshman Ian LaMere and junior T.J. Valley all earned All-American honors on the second day o fthe 2013 NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships on Saturday at North Central College (Ill.).
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville senior Deidre Dillman, freshman Ian LaMere and junior T.J. Valley all earned All-American honors on the second day of the 2013 NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships on Saturday at North Central College (Ill.).
Dillman crossed the finish line in 2:12.12 in the 800-meter run finishing third, and earning her first All-American award.
LaMere was the only rookie and one of two underclassmen in the 13-man field. The Green Bay, Wis. native finished fifth with a time of 14:32.11 in the 5,000-meter run garnering All-American honors.
Valley wrapped up the Pioneers day by finishing sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.23. The Praire du Chien, Wis. native is now a two-time All-American honoree, and he improved on last year's eighth-place performance.
With three men earning All-American honors the Pioneers finished 19th overall with nine points. Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foes dominated the meet, with the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse cruising to a national title after scoring 74 points. University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh finished a distance second with 40, and University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (37 points) and University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (35 points) rounding out the top-four.
The Pioneers open the outdoor season on March 22 at the Washington University Mini Meet at St. Louis, Mo.
