Pioneers Crown Two All-Americans and Nearly More at the NCAA Division III Indoor Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Championships
University of Wisconsin-Platteville juniors Ann
Tank and Patrick Klein each earned
All-American honors on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Indoor
Men's and Women's Track and Field Championships at Capital
University in Columbus, Ohio.
Tank, who had the sixth-fastest prelim time, finished second in
the women's 800-meter run and was edged by Coe's Keelie Finnel by
.053 seconds faster for her sixth All-American honor in her career.
Her second-place performance was the best among runners from the
WIAC.
Klein overcame illness to finish eighth in the mile for
All-American laurels. He finished the mile in a 4:18.06 for his
second-straight track and field All-America recognition.
The Pioneers' women's mile relay team of Stephanie Wyss, Shea
Bierman, Deidre Dillman andAnn Tank finished just out of
All-America honors with a ninth-place finish in a time of
3:57.70.
