Pioneers drop two at Cornell
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville softball team lost 5-0 and 3-1 against host Cornell College on Tuesday.

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa —The University of Wisconsin-Platteville softball team lost 5-0 and 3-1 against host Cornell College on Tuesday.
In game one, the Rams scored three runs in the third and twice in the sixth innings. Jesse Applehans held the Pioneers to three hits and drove in two runs herself for the Rams.
In the nightcap, Cornell scored once in the third, and twice in the fifth innings. Jessy Tanel scored one run in the seventh inning for the Pioneers. She had both of UW-Platteville's hits against Haley Harmon.
Cornell College improved to 18-7 overall. The Pioneers, now 7-21 overall, will play host to Wisconsin Lutheran College on Thursday, April 20 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
