Rote named WIAC Softball Position Player of the Week
UW-Platteville’s Carley Rote was named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Softball Position Player of the Week, announced by the league office.
MADISON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Carley Rote was named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Softball Position Player of the Week, announced by the league office.
Rote, a sophomore from McConnell, Ill., posted a .615 batting average in the Pioneers' four games during the week. She went 8-for-13 with three RBI and scored six times. She belted two home runs for a 1.154 slugging percentage for the week. She went 3-for-3 and scored three times in the Pioneers' comeback win against Carroll University (Wis.) on March 29. Rote went 2-for-3 against No. 18-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University on March 29, and in the first game against Millikin University (Ill.) on March 30.
Rote and the Pioneers take on Dubuque on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
