PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Senior Logan Pearson of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's basketball team was named the 2025 D3hoops.com Player of the Year and First Team All-American on Saturday afternoon.
Pearson becomes the first player in program history to earn multiple Player of the Year awards, after earning the recognition from the NABC following the 2023-24 campaign. He remains one of just two UW-Platteville men's basketball players to earn Player of the Year, alongside Merrill Brunson, who collected the honors from the NABC back in 1999.
The First Team All-American honors is also the second for Pearson this postseason, after grabbing the same award from the NABC earlier this week. Over the past two seasons, Pearson has been named an-American four times and is the only player in program history to secure multiple First Team nods.
Pearson, who was tabbed District and Region Player of the Year earlier this week, finished with a conference-leading 19.8 points per game. The two-time WIAC Player of the Year has appeared on several postseason watch lists and etched his named in the UW-Platteville record books multiple times over the course of the season. He became the program's all-time leading scorer with 2,112 career points and holds Pioneers records for most career field goals made (763) and most consecutive starts (106). Pearson concluded his career sixth in WIAC history in points scored, one of just eight players in conference history to break the 2,000 points threshold.
Across his 116 game career, Pearson averaged 18.2 points per game. He helped the Pioneers win back-to-back WIAC regular season and conference titles over the past two seasons and competed in three NCAA DIII Tournaments, including the UW-Platteville's run to the Elite Eight in 2024. Over his five seasons, Pearson and Pioneers went 96-28, including 47-16 in conference play.
