Pearson Named Jostens Trophy Finalist

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Senior Logan Pearson of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's basketball team was named as one of 10 finalists for the 2025 Jostens Trophy award it was announced on Friday afternoon.
The Jostens Trophy is a national award created by the Rotary Club of Salem, Virginia and sponsored by Jostens, Inc., to recognize the most outstanding men's and women's Division III basketball players of the year. The two awards – one for men's basketball and one for women's basketball – focus on basketball ability, academic prowess, and service to one's surrounding community. The 2025 season marks the 27th time the Jostens Trophy will be awarded.
Pearson wrapped up the 2024-25 season with a WIAC-leading 19.8 points per game across his 29 starts. The senior was named WIAC Player of the Year for the second straight season and garnered attention on both the Trevor Hudgins and Bevo Francis Watch Lists. Pearson posted shooting splits of 51.0/37.2/82.9 and broke the UW-Platteville all-time scoring record, finishing with 2,112 career points. He became one of just eight players in WIAC history to surpass the 2,000 career points mark and holds Pioneers program records in career field goals made (763) and consecutive games started (108).
The National Selection Committee will review the finalists and will announce the two winners following both national championship events.
