Pearson Reaches 1,000 Career Points In Pioneers Win
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Senior Logan Pearson scored his 1,000-career point as the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s basketball team (6-1) rolled past Olivet (2-3) by a score of 97-54 on Saturday afternoon on Bo Ryan Court.

Pearson became the 39th player in program history to reach the 1,000 points plateau on a turnaround jumper late in the first half. The senior forward finished with a game-high 26 points on 10-of-13 shooting, with 22 points coming in just the first half. He went 5-of-6 from beyond the arc in the win while adding three boards and three assists.
UW-Platteville put together a dominant first half and led 61-18 at the break. The Pioneers scored the first 17 points of the half, going a perfect 6-for-6 from the field with five made threes across the opening two and half minutes. Following Olivet's first basket, UW-Platteville went on another 10-point run to lead 27-2 with 13:04 left in the half. The Pioneers finished with 11 made threes in the half, which tied a program record for most in a single half.
Another 13-point run in the second half pushed the UW-Platteville lead to a game-high 56 at 76-20 with just under 15 minutes to play. Sophomore Joey Fuhremann and senior Austin Schaff led the team with six points each in the final 20 minutes as the Pioneers won 97-54.
Fuhremann was the other Pioneer to reach double figures in the contest, scoring 12 points on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting. Senior Ben Probst and freshman Bristol Lewis each added nine points as UW-Platteville featured a balanced scoring attack for much of the game.
Junior Carter Lancaster dished a team-high seven assists, while Fuhremann led the way with six rebounds. Sophomore Gavin Ralph was second on the team with five boards.
UW-Platteville outrebounded Olivet 41-28 and was strong on the defensive end for the second straight game, forcing 18 turnovers. The Pioneers shot 50.8 percent (33-of-65) from the floor and went 15-of-34 (44.1 percent) from three.
The Pioneers hit the road next weekend to play Hope on Saturday at 3 p.m.
