Men’s Basketball receives national academic excellence award with seven earning individual honor
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's basketball team was recognized for the fourth consecutive year for its academic success by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's basketball team was recognized for the fourth consecutive year for its academic success by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes men's basketball programs that completed the 2022-23 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2022-23 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
UW-Platteville was one of two WIAC schools honored by the NABC along with UW-Oshkosh. More than 300 programs from all divisions received an NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, while over 1,800 individuals were honored.
Seven Pioneers earned a spot on the NABA Honors Court, the most in the WIAC. Senior Brad Nies, an accounting major; junior Austin Schaff, a supply chain management major; junior Ben Probst, a business finance major; junior Ben Olson, a physical education major; junior Ben Emler, an accounting major, sophomore Brady Olson, a business marketing major; and junior Logan Pearson, a business management major.
