Platteville, Wis.- University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s basketball senior Quentin Shields was recently named a fourth team Pre-Season All-American by d3hoops.com. The guard from Chicago, Illinois used the NCAA’s blanket waiver due to the COVID-19 pandemic to return for a fifth year.

Shields, a two-time All-WIAC First Team member, averaged 15.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.3 steals in a shortened 2021 season while leading the Pioneers to the school's 22nd Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship. Shields has been a member of three regular season WIAC championships and two WIAC Tournament championship teams.
Shields has started 64 of the 94 games he has played. Over his career, he has averaged 13.2 points a game, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals a contest. The Brooks College Prep Academy alumnus is majoring in biology.
