Pioneers’ Shields named first team All-Central Region

Shields, a Chicago native, led the Pioneers in scoring (15.4) and assists (3.50) and was second in steals (1.40). His 15.4 points a game ranks him ninth in the WIAC, while his 3.50 assists rank him second in the WIAC.
Shields scored a season high 25 points at UW-La Crosse on Feb. 24. He dished out seven assists in two contests, while pulling down a season high nine rebounds vs. UW-La Crosse on Feb. 26.
Shields has played in 94 games in four years, starting 64 of them. In his time at UW-Platteville, the Pioneers have won the regular season WIAC title three times and two WIAC tournament titles, with an overall record of 73-23.
The Brooks College Prep Academy alumnus will use the NCAA's blanket waiver for an extra year and return for a fifth year of competition. Shields is a biology major.
