Voelker and Gard named to D3hoops.com All-Central Region team
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - D3hoops.com announced today the 2020 All-Central Region team and coach, and among the recipients were senior Carter Voelker and head coach Jeff Gard. Voelker was named first team All-Central Region while Gard was named the All-Central Region Coach of the Year for the second time in three seasons.

Voelker was named first team All-Central Region while Gard was named the All-Central Region Coach of the Year for the second time in three seasons.
Voelker was named WIAC Co-Player of the Year and in conference play, he ranked fourth in scoring (16.9 points/game), third in rebounding (7.1/game) and first in assists (4.0/game) while leading the WIAC with a 1.81 assist to turnover ratio.
Voelker's top performances this season includes:
-12/27 - LeTourneau - 22 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists. He shot 38.1% (8-of-21) from the field.
-1/18 - UW-La Crosse - 21 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Voelker shot 43.8% (7-of-16) from the field.
-2/15 - UW-River Falls - 30 points, six rebounds and 1 assist. He shot 76.9% (10-of-13) from the field and 87.5% (7-of-8) from three-point range.
In his 11th season as head coach at UW-Platteville, Gard led the Pioneers to a third consecutive and 13th trip in program history to the NCAA DIII Men's Basketball Championship tournament. Before earning an at large bid, the Pioneers clinched the outright WIAC regular season title which was a second in three seasons, a 21st in program history, and a 14th outright championship. Gard was also named WIAC Coach of the Year.
The Pioneers had a conference best +13 point differential, ranking second in scoring (78 points/game) and second in points allowed (65 points/game).
UW-Platteville led the WIAC in knocking down and defending the three-point shot. The Pioneers made a conference-high 250 three-pointers (9.62/game) at a 39.6% clip as a team and held their opponents to just 30.4% from deep. As a team, they finished second in the conference in rebounding (37.6/game) and assists (12.88 per game).
