RALEIGH, N.C. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's basketball team had five players score in double-figures in the Pioneers' 89-64 rout of William Peace on Tuesday afternoon in Raleigh, N.C.
Senior Jake Manning led all scorers with 17 points and went 7-9 from the floor. Classmate Jim Stocki netted 15 points, while Cory Vaassen added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Trey Sigel brought a spark off the bench with 14 first half points and made 4-of-6 from 3-point range. Peyton River contributed 10 points off the bench as well.
The Pioneers never allowed the Pacers to lead, and used a 15-0 run midway through the first half to take a 29-10 lead. Sigel drilled three straight three-pointers, and then scored the Pioneers final five points of the half to give UW-Platteville a 50-23 advantage at intermission.
The Pioneers held the Pacers from making any type of run in the second half and cruised to an 89-64 win.
UW-Platteville returns to Bo Ryan Court on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 7 p.m. to host UW-Stout.
