WINONA, Minn. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville assistant men's basketball coach Jamison Rusthoven was named St. Mary's University (Minn.) new head men's basketball coach on Monday.
Rusthoven has spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach for the Pioneer basketball program.
"I could not think of a better choice to be the new head coach at St. Mary's University than Jamison," said UW-Platteville's head men's basketball coach Jeff Gard. "His work ethic, integrity and genuine concern for helping student-athletes puts him in an elite category of college coaches, and hopefully the people of Winona will see the results of his hard work shortly."
Rusthoven inherits a team that finished 4-12 last season. But Rusthoven is no stranger to the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Prior to his three-year stint with the Pioneers, he served as an assistant at Hamline for five seasons.
"I want to thank him for being the great ambassador that he's been for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and the Pioneer basketball family wishes the best to him and his family in this new chapter of his career," said Gard.
