Pioneers Announce 2023 Schedule

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – After finishing 5-5 this past fall with several wins against top 25 competition under the direction of first-year head coach Ryan Munz, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville football team begins the 2023 season on August 31 with a Thursday night kickoff against Lakeland in Sheboygan, Wis.

The Pioneers continue the non-conference portion of the schedule on Saturday, September 9 with a road matchup against Dubuque. The final non-conference game will be at home against Michigan Tech. After opening the 2022 campaign on the road against the Huskies, UW-Platteville welcomes them to Ralph E. Davis Pioneers Stadium on Saturday, September 16 for the first home game of the season.

After a week off, the Pioneers begin the WIAC slate with a road contest against UW-River Falls on Saturday, September 30. UW-Platteville's first home conference game will be the annual Homecoming game the following week on October 7 against UW-Stevens Point. The Pioneers remain at home the next week against 2022 WIAC Co-Champion UW-La Crosse on Saturday, October 14.

UW-Platteville continues conference action with back-to-back Saturday road games against UW-Eau Claire on October 21 and UW-Whitewater on October 28. After defeating the Warhawks for the first time since 2004 this past fall, the Pioneers look to retain the coveted Miner's Axe in what will be the 28^th installment of the George Chryst Memorial Bowl.

The final two games of the regular season will be at home, with the Pioneers hosting UW-Oshkosh on Saturday, November 4 before welcoming UW-Stout to town on Saturday, November 11 for Senior Day.
