Two late interceptions by the Pioneers, a huge defensive stop just shy of a tying touchdown at the end of the first half and a 25-yard pass for a touchdown on 4th and 4 were among the game-changing plays which kept fans on the edge of their seats during a chilling November football game in southwest Wisconsin.

RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville football team fell short, 31-28 in another back-and-forth conference game against the current WIAC leading offense of UW-River Falls. The teams remained tied at the half, but in the end the Falcons held on to a three-point lead to hand the Pioneers their third conference loss of the year by a three-point or fewer margin.

After long awaited return, Pioneers give fans thrilling game under the lights

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Following a nearly 22 month stretch, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville football team returned to competition and Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium for the 2021 season opener against the Tigers of East Texas Baptist. The night featured the debut of the Pioneers' specialty set of grey uniforms, the return of fans in the stands and a thrilling back and forth game which concluded with ETBU holding a 37-31 advantage for the win.

Pioneer football picked third in tough WIAC

Platteville, Wis.- When the University of Wisconsin-Platteville football team welcomes East Texas Baptist University to Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium for a 6 p.m. kick on Thursday, Sept. 2, it will be 656 days since the Pioneers last competed in a game. Head Coach Mike Emendorfer is in his 23rd year at UW-Platteville and returns seven starters on the offensive side of the ball, led by All-Conference senior quarterback Colin Schuetz, senior wide receiver Donald Allender and senior offensive lineman Carter Brehm.
