The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men’s basketball team fell to the UW-Oshkosh Titans 79-72 on Wednesday in Oshkosh, falling to 10-10 on the season and 4-5 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Belken, Robinson receive All-American accolades
Andrew Belken and Andrew Robinson, both senior members of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville football team, have been named to the 2015 D3football.com third team All-America, earning the All-American title for their outstanding efforts throughout the season.

Dillon Villhauer nominated for GEICO play of the year
Dillon Villhauer’s 75 yard punt return for a touchdown in their game against North Central College on Sept. 12 is nominated for the GEICO Play of the Year, Intersport announced today. Each week, fans vote for the GEICO Play of the Year and the winner will be announced during GEICO’s Best of College Football 2015 on CBS Nov. 27 at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Davis Pioneer Stadium.

UW-Platteville, ranked 14th in the D3football.com poll, gave top-ranked UW-Whitewater a battle, but the defending national champions prevailed 17-7 before a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record crowd of 15,287.

Pioneers retain Battle of the Bridge trophy for another year
The Pioneers University of Wisconsin-Platteville will keep possession of the Battle of the Bridge Trophy after defeating the University of Dubuque 31-7 on Saturday night in Dubuque. The Pioneers, now ranked #22, Pioneers scored first on a 47 yard touchdown pass from Quarterback quarterback Tom Kelly to receiver Mitch Munda, and would never trail the entire night.

Pioneer football announces 2015 captains
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville football team has announced its captains for the 2015 season. The six players that were selected had to apply for the position with a detailed essay and then were selected by their peers to lead the Pioneers in 2015. The six captains are Russell Martin, Brett Jerdee, Tom Kelly, Andrew Robinson, Andrew Belken and Alex Johnson.

UW-Platteville selected second in preseason predictions
The UW-Platteville Pioneers are slotted to finish second in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC), based on a poll conducted by the league's head coaches and sports information directors. They were second in voting to UW-Whitewater, last year's NCAA Division III National Champion.

Gard announces 2015-16 schedule
University of Wisconsin-Platteville head men's basketball coach Jeff Gard announced the Pioneers’ 2015-16 schedule on Monday, highlighted by a trip to Holland, Mich.to face Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Conference powerhouse Hope College before finals week (Dec. 12) and then to Texas after Christmas to face off with Schreiner College and McMurry University near San Antonio.
