Four Pioneers Named CSC Academic All-District
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Senior Jake Schneider, junior Brady Hoppert, junior Slate Higa, and sophomore Mason Molitor of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville baseball team were named to the College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team it was announced on Tuesday.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Senior Jake Schneider, junior Brady Hoppert, junior Slate Higa, and sophomore Mason Molitor of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville baseball team were named to the College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team it was announced on Tuesday.
The 2024 Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their performances both on the field and in the classroom. To be nominated, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and be in sophomore, junior, or senior standing.
Schneider, a construction management major with a cumulative GPA of 3.96, pitched in 10 games for the Pioneers on the season, starting one. The senior struck out 25 batters across 25.0 innings and led the team lead in saves with two.
Hoppert, a mechanical engineering major with a 3.93 GPA, was second on the team in innings pitched with 38.1 across 10 appearances on the mound. The junior made eight starts for the Pioneers and posted a 3-4 record to go along with a team-high 31 strikeouts.
Higa played in 35 games and holds a 3.51 GPA as a civil engineering major. The junior posted a .265 batting average across 102 at-bats while stealing a team-high 11 bases. Higa hit one home run and drove in nine runs on the season.
Molitor is an industrial engineering major with a 3.65 GPA. The sophomore batted .280 with two home runs and 17 RBI across 32 games played. Molitor was fourth on the team with six doubles and was third with 27 runs scored.
