Football Defensive Athlete of the Week – Patrick Swanson, Sr. (Mokena, IL/Marian Catholic) Defensive Back – Swanson had a solid day grounding the Stevens Point passing game in the Pioneers 47-31 win over the Pointers on Oct. 8. The senior recorded four tackles, and had a huge 50-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown. |

Football Offensive Athlete of the Week – Quinn Buschbacher, Sr. (Sugar Grove, IL/Kaneland) Wide Receiver – Buschbacher scored three touchdowns in the Pioneers 47-31 win over the Pointers on Oct. 8. The senior caught eight balls for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Quinn also ran for 50 yards on six carries and one touchdown. |

Football Special Team Athlete of the Week – Quinn Buschbacher, Sr. (Sugar Grove, IL/Kaneland) Wide Receiver – Buschbacher was instrumental in gaining great field position for the Pioneers in their victory over UW-Stevens Point on Oct. 8th. Buschbacher averaged 30 yards per kick return, and had a long return of 46 yard. The senior’s efforts helped the Pioneers improve to 4-1 on the year. |

Women’s Golf Athlete of the Week – Team – The 2016-17 Pioneer golf team set a record for the lowest team scoring average ever through the fall season. The team recorded an 18-hole average of 349.8, which included two rounds in the 320s. Congratulations to all of the student-athletes: Stephanie Baribeau,, Lindsay Neitzel, Lexi Graf, Larissa Schmock, and Alysse Elko. |

Men’s Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week – Braxton Rottinghaus, Fr. (La Porte City, IA/Iowa Union) Midfielder – Rottinghaus was relentless on both side of the ball as the Pioneers went 2-1 last week, improving to 10-5 on the season. The freshman was threatening offensively, scoring a goal in the 3-0 win over Wartburg on Oct. 7. His defensive tenacity was always helping the Pioneers back line, providing support, double teaming, and shutting down anything threats coming from the midfield. |

Men’s Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week – Logan Rinderknecht, So. (Cedar Rapids, IA/Prairie) Forward – Rinderknecht scored four goals this week in three games leading the Pioneers to a 2-1 record on the week. The sophomore opened the score sheet against Wartburg on Oct. 7 and added two more goals in Sunday’s 3-1 win over 13th-ranked Aurora. Logan has scored 14 goals in the Pioneers’ 15 games as they improve to 10-5 on the year. |

Women’s Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week – Emily Phillips, Sr. (La Porte Cit, IA/Iiowa Union) Defender – Phillips anchored the Pioneers' back line, which kept the UW-La Crosse and UW-Oshkosh offenses at bay all last week. With 1-0 losses to both WIAC teams, the senior’s speed and timely tackles were critical in keeping shots on goal limited in the games against both offensive powerhouses. |

Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week – Lindsey Decker, Sr. (Galena, IL) Defensive Specialist – Decker registered 39 digs as a defensive specialist in twelve sets played against Edgewood College on Oct. 5, UW-River Falls on Oct. 7 and UW-Stout on Oct. 8. The senior averaged 3.25 digs per set while only playing three rotations as a defensive specialist. This included a 19 dig performance in a five set loss to UW-Stout. |

Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week – Amber Williams, Sr. (Milwaukee, WI/Hamilton) Outside Hitter – Williams registered 26 kills to go along with six block assists and a solo block in twelve sets against Edgewood College on Oct. 5, UW-River Falls on Oct. 7 and UW-Stout on Oct. 8. The senior recorded a season best .368 hitting percentage against Edgewood notching seven kills with zero errors in her 19 attempts. Williams averaged 2.2 kills per set over the three matches. |
