Pioneers name athletes of the week, Moses earns WIAC honors

Baseball Position Athlete of the Week – Josh Moses, Freshman (Cedarburg, Wis.), Outfielder – Moses lead the Pioneers to a 6-0 record last week by going 12-for-23 (.521) at bat, and hitting for the cycle versus Illinois Tech on April 2. In the 14-10 Pioneer win, the freshman went a perfect five-for-five with a single, double, triple, and home run while driving in four runs. Moses finished the week with four doubles, three triples, a home run, and seven RBI. |

Men’s Outdoor Track and Field – Field Athlete – Kyle Whaley, Senior (Tomah, Wis.), Shot Put and Hammer – Whaley competed at the Washington University Invitational on March 31 and April 1. The senior’s shot put performance of 52-7 1/4 (16.03m) won the competition and currently ranks him 10th in Division III. Kyle threw a personal record in the hammer throw of 177-2 (54m), which also won the competition and ranks 11th in Division III. |

Women’s Outdoor Track and Field – Field Athlete – Rachel Beuthin, Freshman (Mazomanie, Wis./Wisconsin Heights), Shot Put – Beuthin placed first in the shot put at the Washington University Invite on April 1. The freshman’s throw of 42-7 (12.98m) is currently 16th on the NCAA Division III national list. |
