Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week – Robert Duax, So. (Dubuque, IA/Hempstead) Guard – Duax averaged 18.5 points, two rebounds, 3.5 assists, and three steals in two games last week while the Pioneers went 1-1 on the week. In Wednesday’s 76-71 victory vs UW- Steven’s Point, he totaled 24 points and six assists in 36 minutes. Saturday against UW-La Crosse, Duax had a perfect night at the free throw line going six-for-six to go along with his 50 percent shooting percentage from behind the three-point line, finishing with 13 points. |

Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week – Morgan Horstman, So. (Bangor, Wis.) Guard – Horstman led the Pioneers to a 1-1 record in WIAC play last week as they split a pair of road games with UW-Stevens Point and UW-La Crosse. The sophomore connected on six-of-13 from the floor including two-for-four from beyond the arc, good for 14 points and added eight rebounds and four assists in the Pioneers’ 67-63 win at UW-Stevens Point on January 18. In Saturday’s loss at La Crosse, the sophomore scored 16 points on six-of-13 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds. |

Indoor Track Men’s Field Athlete of the Week – Kyle Whaley, Sr. (Tomah, Wis.) Shot Put – Whaley won the shot put competition in his last throw at the WIAC Triangular hosted by UW-Stevens Point. His winning mark of 16.27 meters (53’, 4.5”) ranks ninth on the NCAA Division III national list. The senior also finished second in a weight throw with a toss of 16.41 meters (53’, 10.25”), which is ranked 28 on the national list. |

Indoor Track Men’s Track Athlete of the Week – Ian LaMere, Sr. (Green Bay, Wis./Hempstead) Mile – LaMere ran a lifetime personal best winning the mile at the WIAC Triangular hosted by UW-Stevens Point. His time of 4:13.7 is the fourth best time on the NCAA Division III national list. |

(Mazomanie, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) Shot Put – Beuthin won the shot put at the WIAC Triangular hosted by UW-Stevens Point on January 21. The freshman’s throw of 13.18 meters (43’, 3”) ranks second in the WIAC and ninth on the NCAA Division III national list. |

Wrestling Athlete of the Week – Alex Costello, Fr. (Fond du Lac, Wis./Campbelsport) 141 lbs. – Costello earned a pin over Freddy Terranova in the dual meet versus Augustana College on January 20. Terranova came into the meet as a contender in the most recent D3wrestle.com national rankings. |
