PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Three University of Wisconsin-Platteville teams will be actions this week, with men’s basketball hosting the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Track and fields looks to the upcoming NCAA Indoor Championships with a trio of last chance meets this weekend, while baseball travels to MSOE for three games between Saturday and Sunday.

Men's Basketball Hosts First Two Rounds of NCAA Tournament
The Pioneers men's basketball team will host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament this Friday and Saturday on Bo Ryan Court. UW-Platteville face Grinnell at 7:10 p.m. on Friday night in the opening round of the tournament, with the winner advancing to face either Wisconsin Lutheran or Calvin on Saturday at the same time.

Track and Field Competes at Last Chance Meets
With just two weeks until the NCAA DIII Indoor Championships, the Pioneers track and field teams will compete at several last chance meets this weekend. UW-Platteville will host one of those last chance meets on Friday, with field events beginning at 4 p.m. and running events following shortly after at 4:30 p.m. The Pioneers will also compete at the UW-La Crosse last chance meet and Wartburg last chance meets on Saturday.
Baseball Heads to MSOE for Weekend Series
After opening the season this past weekend, the Pioneers will travel to MSOE for three games this weekend, starting with a Saturday doubleheader at noon and 3:30 p.m. UW-Platteville will take on the Raiders on more time with a noon matchup on Sunday.
MSOE is off to a 2-0 start after sweeping Carroll in a doubleheader this past Friday by scores of 7-5 and 12-2. Camden Hoier had a strong weekend at the plate for the Raiders, hitting .625 with a triple and four RBI. On the mound, Elias Lopez and Kellen Pate each collected a win, and combined to allow just one run across 9.0 innings.
