Men's Basketball Hosts WIAC Tournament Semifinal Wednesday
After securing the WIAC regular season title, the Pioneers enter the WIAC Tournament this week as the top seed. UW-Platteville will host the semifinal game on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. against the lowest remaining seed, with the winner advancing to Friday night's WIAC Championship game.
The opening round of the tournament begins on Monday night, with third-seed UW-Eau Claire hosting sixth-seed UW-Oshkosh and fourth-seed UW-Stevens Point welcoming in fifth-seed UW-Whitewater. UW-La Crosse secured the second seed and will serve as the other semifinal host.
Wrestling Travels for Upper Midwest Regional
The Pioneers wrestling team returns to the mat this Friday and Saturday at the Upper Midwest Regional hosted by Augsburg University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Sixteen total teams will compete at the regional, with a total of 30 wrestlers – the top three finishers in each weight class – qualifying for the upcoming national tournament in Providence, Rhode Island.

Track and Field Competes at WIAC Indoor Championships
Following a successful showing this past weekend at a pair of meets, the Pioneers track and field teams will head to the 2025 WIAC Indoor Championships this Friday and Saturday. The meet will be hosted by UW-Stevens Point inside Skyward Fieldhouse.

Baseball Opens Season in Indiana
The Pioneers baseball team look to begin its season this weekend in Lafayette, Indiana with a quartet of games. UW-Platteville will face Elmhurst on Friday at noon before taking on Wabash later in the day at 3 p.m. The Pioneers will play the same two teams again over the weekend, with Elmhurst at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Wabash at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
The Blue Jays will begin their season as well on Friday after going 10-29 in 2024. Elmhurst went 4-16 in CCIW play last season.
The Little Giants opened their season this past weekend and split a doubleheader with Manchester. Wabash had a solid 2024 campaign, finishing 22-18 overall and 8-8 in NCAC play. Benjamin Henke had a strong weekend, going 4-for-8 with three RBI and three runs scored for the Little Giants.
Softball Heads to Minnesota on Sunday
The Pioneers softball team looks to continue its strong start this Sunday when they play Buena Vista at 11 a.m. and Bethel (Minn.) at 5 p.m. inside the Rochester Dome.
The Beavers are off to an 0-4 start after losing to all four games inside the Mankato Dome this past weekend. Kayla Farmer led the team offensively with a .400 batting average and a home run across the first four games.
The Royals are 1-1 on the year after beating UW-La Crosse 2-0 back on February 15. Mikaela Girard has had a strong start to the season, batting .600 through the first two games, while Dominique Walicke threw seven shutout innings with eight strikeouts in the win over the Eagles.
