Three Teams Compete This Week

Women’s basketball is home against Lake Forest on Wednesday, while men’s basketball heads to Hope on Saturday afternoon.

Wrestling Duals UW-Stevens Point
The Pioneers wrestling program will begin WIAC competition on Tuesday at UW-Stevens Point. The dual is set to begin at 7 p.m. from Shirley Egner Court at Berg Gym in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
The Pointers had their conference opener last Thursday when they faced off against UW-Oshkosh. UW-Stevens Point picked up a 40-18 win over the Titans, highlighted by three falls and a major decision.
Women's Basketball Hosts Lake Forest
After an upset win over No. 15 Loras over the weekend, the Pioneers women's basketball team returns to Platteville for its second home game of the season on Wednesday night. UW-Platteville will host Lake Forest for a 7 p.m. tip in the final home game of the calendar year.
Lake Forest is 1-7 on the year with its only win coming against Monmouth last Tuesday. Melissa Gomez leads the Foresters with 8.0 points per game, while Taylor Major (7.1 points) and Maurissa Edwards (7.0) follow close behind.
Men's Basketball Heads to Hope
The Pioneers men's basketball team carries a three-game winning streak into a road contest against Hope on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. inside the DeVos Fieldhouse in Holland, Michigan.
Hope is 4-0 on the year with recent wins over Concordia Wisconsin and Hanover in the last couple weeks. The Flying Dutchman will take on No. 1 ranked UW-Whitewater on Wednesday night before welcoming UW-Platteville for a Saturday matchup. Four players average double digit points for Hope, led by Gabe Quillan (14.5).
