Pioneer Athletics Continue Action This Week

Volleyball Busy with Three Match Week
The Pioneers volleyball team begins a three-match week at home on Tuesday night when they host Coe at 7 p.m. The team then travels to UW-Stevens Point on Friday for a 7 p.m. start before taking on Cornell on Saturday in Stevens Point at 11 a.m.
The Kohawks are 11-10 on the year and are coming off a 3-1 loss to Dubuque last Wednesday. Grace Lueken leads the attack for Coe with 2.54 kills per set.
The no. 17-ranked Pointers swept Dubuque on Saturday to improve to 17-4 on the year along with 3-1 in the WIAC. Ashley Kopp paces the WIAC in kills, and is averaging 4.69 per set.
Cornell also ranks inside the AVCA top 25 at no. 24 and have won four straight to move to 13-6 on the year. Ilah Perez-Johnson averages 3.54 kills per set, while Grace Marti adds another 2.84 kills per set.
Men's Soccer Visits St. Olaf Tuesday
The Pioneers men's soccer team improved to 10-0-4 with wins over UW-Whitewater and Principia last week, matching the program record for unbeaten play in the process. UW-Platteville will look to continue that streak when it takes on No. 23-ranked St. Olaf on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
The Oles are averaging 3.07 goals per game, while allowing just 0.93 per contest across 14 games played. St. Olaf is currently riding a 10-match unbeaten streak, bringing its record to 10-3-1 on the year. The only losses on the year for the Oles have come against top 25 opponents.
Women's Soccer to Play Two Conference Contests
After a 7-1 win over UW-Stout on Saturday, the Pioneers women's soccer team will play a pair of WIAC matches this week, starting with a home contest against UW-Whitewater at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The team then heads to UW-Stevens Point on Saturday at 6 p.m.
The Warhawks are 5-6-3 on the year and 1-2-1 in conference play after falling 3-1 to UW-Stevens Point on Saturday. UW-Whitewater averages 1.21 goals per game while allowing 1.71.
The Pointers are second in the conference with a 3-1 record and sit at 6-7-1 overall on the season. UW-Stevens Point has won three straight and average 1.14 goals per game.
Football Heads to UW-Eau Claire
The Pioneers football team looks to bounce back after a close loss to UW-La Crosse when they travel to UW-Eau Claire on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff at Carson Park is set for 1:10 p.m.
After falling to UW-Oshkosh over the weekend, the Blugolds now sit at 2-4 on the year and 1-2 in WIAC play. The offense has struggled to score, averaging a conference-low 13.8 points per game, while the defense allows 32.8 per contest. The pass rush has been the highlight for UW-Eau Claire, as it leads the WIAC with 21 sacks, including three apiece from Marcus Banks and Cole Hendrickson.
