Fall Sports Continue Play This Week
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – After a successful Homecoming week, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville athletic teams enter another week with several contests on the schedule. Men’s soccer and volleyball both take on UW-Whitewater at home, while football welcomes UW-La Crosse on Saturday. Women’s soccer and both cross country programs head on the road this weekend.

Men's Soccer Hosts UW-Whitewater Tuesday
The Pioneers men's soccer team will play a pair of matches this week, starting with UW-Whitewater at home on Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. start. UW-Platteville then heads on the road for a 3 p.m. contest against Principia on Saturday.
The Warhawks are undefeated on the season with a record of 11-0-4. The Coast-to-Coast foe recently shut out ranked Gustavus Adolphus on Sunday and will enter Platteville riding a three-game winning streak. Cooper Re has scored a team-high seven goals for UW-Whitewater, while keeper Matthew Vollmer has allowed just six goals across 12 starts in net.
Volleyball Welcome Warhawks on Wednesday
After picking up three sweeps last week, the Pioneers volleyball team gets ready to face UW-Whitewater in a conference match on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
The Warhawks enter the week 15-2 on the season and 2-1 in conference while riding a six-match winning streak. UW-Whitewater dropped its first WIAC match against UW-Oshkosh but rebounded with wins over UW-La Crosse and UW-Eau Claire recently. Through 17 contests, the Warhawks rank second in the conference with a .225 hitting percentage with Kirsten Anderson ranking second on her own at .395.
Football Takes on UW-La Crosse at Home on Saturday
The Pioneers football team cruised to a 51-10 Homecoming win over UW-Stevens Point on Saturday and will remain home this weekend against D3football.com's sixth-ranked UW-La Crosse.
The Eagles jumped up the rankings after beating UW-Whitewater 37-34 on Saturday afternoon to improve to 2-0 in conference and 4-1 on the year. Offensively UW-La Crosse averages 33.6 points per game while allowing 22.2. Wide receiver Jack Studer paces the conference with 619 receiving yards and is second with seven touchdowns. The Eagles boast the top pass defense in the WIAC, allowing just 179.2 passing yards per game.
Cross Country Runs at Augustana Interregional Invite
After a week off, the Pioneers cross country teams head to Rock Island, Illinois to compete at the Augustana Interregional Invite. The meet will take place at Saukie Golf Course and begin at 11 a.m.
Women's Soccer Heads to UW-Stout Saturday
Following a pair of 1-0 wins last weekend, the Pioneers women's soccer team heads to UW-Stout on Saturday for a 2 p.m. contest.
The Blue Devils are 3-6-2 on the year and 0-2-0 in WIAC play with losses to UW-Stevens Point and UW-Oshkosh. UW-Stout hosts UW-River Falls on Wednesday night before welcoming the Pioneers this weekend. While last in the conference with a goals average of .818, the Blue Devils have been better defensively, allowing 1.09 goals per game, which ranks fifth.
