Pioneers Ready For Week Ahead
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville athletic teams continue action this week, with baseball beginning the week with a road contest on Tuesday. Softball will host Beloit on Wednesday night before going on the road for a doubleheader on Saturday while track and field and women’s golf will compete this weekend.

Baseball Heads to Loras Tuesday
The Pioneers baseball team will play one game this week when they head to Loras on Tuesday night at 5 p.m.
The Duhawks are 21-12 on the season and have won six of their past eight games. At the plate, Loras is batting .308 as a team with Daniel Rogers posting a team-high .362 batting average. Dakota Church is tied for the team lead with four home runs and has driven in 35 to pace the team.
Pair of Doubleheaders on Deck for Softball
The Pioneers softball team will host Beloit in an afternoon doubleheader on Wednesday before traveling to continue conference action on Saturday against UW-Eau Claire. The series against Beloit will begin at 3 P.M. and 5 P.M. with the weekend doubleheader set for 2 P.M. and 4 P.M.
The Buccaneers enter the week at 8-22 on the season and have lost their last 12 games. The offense is led by Angela Donath and Kaylee Witte, who have combined for five home runs and 37 RBI. In the circle Samantha Friedrichsohn has a team-leading 3.63 ERA across 63.2 innings pitched.
UW-Eau Claire is currently 12-14 on the season and is last in the WIAC with a 1-5 mark in conference play. The Blugolds will play UW-Stevens Point in a doubleheader Monday afternoon before welcoming in the Pioneers on Saturday. Chloe Garofalo is sixth in the WIAC with a .449 batting average and leads the conference with 18 stolen bases.
Track and Field Competes at Drake Relays
With the WIAC Outdoor Championships approaching in early May, the Pioneers track and field teams will compete at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa from Thursday through Saturday. Other members of the team will head to the Drake Alternative meet in Whitewater on Friday, which kicks off at noon.
Women's Golf at Viking Invite Saturday
The Pioneers women's golf team will compete at the Viking Invite at the Highland Springs Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois on Friday and Saturday. The two-day invite will be hosted by Augustana (Ill.)
