Softball returns to field after long break, busy week ahead
The Pioneer softball team felt they had momentum after they swept UW-Eau Claire in a pair of walk-off victories, but Mother Nature had a different idea. Since the sweep of the Blugolds on April 10, the Pioneers have had nothing but cancelations and postponed games. The Pioneers were finally able to get back on the field at UW-Stout on April 24. After the unexpected two-week layoff, the Pioneers were not able to keep the momentum as the Blue Devils swept the WIAC doubleheader 7-5 and 2-1.

Like the previous week, the Pioneers had to switch locations to get two contests in due to weather and field condition. The Pioneers and UW-Oshkosh postponed the first two contests of their four-game series due to the wet field conditions. With high probability of more rain in Platteville, the Pioneers traveled to UW-Oshkosh and "hosted" the Titans on their home field. The Titans swept the Pioneers 6-4 and 12-2. A make-up date of the first two contests has not been announced yet.
