Baseball: Shane Nolan - SR - Pitcher (Lake Zurich, IL; Lake Zurich HS)
Nolan notched his first win of the season and his Platteville career in the nightcap of Saturday's doubleheader vs. Finlandia. The senior right hander retired the first 10 batters he faced in order to begin the game including 5K's. Among the strikeouts was a spotless 2nd inning where Nolan K'ed Finlandia's 4-5-6 hitters. On the day Nolan worked 7 innings, scattered 7 hits, gave up only 2 runs, walked 3 and struckout 10.

Women's Track: Gwen Orr, Sprints (Deforest, WI; Deforest HS) Gwen recorded two personal bests at the Rex Foster Twilight hosted by UW-Whitewater. In the 100 meters Gwen placed second in a time of 12.37 (2.5) which broke the UW-Platteville School Record. Gwen then went on to win the 200 meters in a career best time of 25.51 (1.7). The 100 meter time is #19 on the DIII National Honor Roll, with the 200 meters #17. |

Baseball: Jason Adams, Sophomore - Left Field (Burlington, WI Burlington HS)
Jason was a monstrous 7-9 combined in Friday's DH vs. Finlandia. In Game 2 on Saturday, he went 3-3, walked three other times, drove in three and scored four times all from the leadoff spot in Platteville's weekend sweep of the Lions. All told in four games this past weekend Adams hit 10-16, 4 RBI, 4 BB, 2 Doubles, 1 Triple, 7 Runs Scored, 2 SB (.625 avg/.700 obp/.875 ops).

Men's Field: Alex Walechka, Senior, Hammer (Minnesota City, MN; Cotter High School) Alex won the hammer throw at the Rex Foster Twilight hosted by UW-Whitewater. His mark of 54.88 m (180' 01") was over an eleven-foot personal best. That mark currently ranks #2 in the WIAC and #7 on the NCAA National List. |
