Pioneers name athletes of the week

Gwen Orr, Sophomore (DeForest, Wis./DeForest) – Short Sprints Orr became just the fifth person in school history to break 26 seconds in the 200 meter dash at this past weekend's UW-Platteville Invitational. Her time of 25.93 seconds placed 4th in the event and currently has her at #5 on the WIAC Conference Honor Roll. |

Charlie Gifford, Junior (Menasha, Wis./Menasha) – 110 Meter Hurdles Gifford ran a personal best time of 14.56 to win the 110 Hurdles at this past weekend's UW-Platteville Invitational. That time currently ranks #1 in the WIAC and #5 on the NCAA National Qualifying List. |

Shannon Gaul, Sophomore (Aurora, Ill./Oswego East) – Third base Gaul hit .455 (5-of-11) for the week with three walks in the Pioneers' four games against University of Dubuque and UW-Stevens Point. Gaul had a hit in all but the first game against Dubuque. In the second game against Dubuque on April 9 she went 1-of-4. On April 13 against UW-Stevens point, Gaul went 2-of-3 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored. In the second game of the doubleheader, Gaul went 2-of-2 including the walk off homerun to seal the conference sweep. |

Ashton Hoeppner, Sophomore (Winona, Minn./Senior) - Pitcher Hoeppner pitched 11.1 innings this week for the Pioneers and recorded an ERA of 1.59. On April 13, she pitched a four-inning shut out against UW-Stevens Point holding them to only two hits, including three strikeouts. In two games against University of Dubuque on April 9, Hoeppner pitched 7.1 innings with two earned runs and three strikeouts. |
