Pioneers name athletes of the week

Rachel Martin, Senior (Naperville, Ill./North) – First Base Martin hit .428 (6-of-14) in the Pioneers four contests this week including a sweep against Beloit College and their conference opener against UW-Stout. In the wins over Beloit on April 2, Martin went 2-of-3 with an RBI and a walk and 1-of-3 with a walk. In their losses to UW-Stout on April 6, Martin went 2-of-4 with a double and then 1-of-4 with an RBI. |

Rachel Beuthin, Junior (Mazomanie, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) – Shot Put, Hammer & Discus Competing at the Ashton May Invitational hosted by UW-La Crosse, Beuthin scored in all three events she competed in. That included a 3rd place finish in the shot put (43' 9.75") that currently ranks #13 in the NCAA. Beuthin also finish 6th in the discus with a mark on 126' 8". Finally, Beuthin threw over a 16' personal best in the hammer throw (153' 2") to place 8th in that event. That throw moves her to # 3 on the UW-Platteville All-Time List. |

Alyssa Elko, Junior (River Hills, Wis./Nicolet) - Golf Elko finished in first place out of 24 golfers at the Marian university invitational this weekend with a great two round score of 174 (83,91). Elko led the Pioneer team to a second place finish. |

Alec Burcham, Senior (Mount Horeb, Wis./Mount Horeb) – 400 meters Burcham won the 400 meters at the Ashton May Invitational hosted by UW-La Crosse. His personal record time of 48.60 moved him the #2 in the WIAC and #9 on the National List. |
Noah Steiner, Junior (Monticello, Iowa/Monticello) – High Jump Steiner won the high jump at the Ashton May Invitational hosted by UW-La Crosse with a height of 2.03 m (6' 8"). The mark currently ranks #1 in the WIAC and #10 on the NCAA National List. |
