Pioneers name athletes of the week, Kaufmann and Moses earn WIAC honors

Rachel Martin, senior (Naperville, Ill./North) – First Base Martin hit .471 (8-of-17) with six RBI as the Pioneers finished their first six games in Tucson, AZ. Martin was only held without a hit in one of the six games. On March 15, Martin was 1-of-3 in the 5-0 loss to Case Western Reserve then was 3-of-3 with three RBI in the 10-2 win over St. Scholastica. On March 16, Martin went 1-of-2 in the 1-0 loss to Skidmore and 1-of-2 in the 13-3 loss to George Fox. On March 17, Martin started the day 0-of-3 in the 5-1 loss to Hamline but bounced back with a 2-of-4 game including two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in the 7-6 loss to Gustavus Adolphus. |

Caleb Kaufmann*, Senior (Wilton, Iowa/Wilton) – Lefthanded Pitcher Kaufmann took a no-hitter into the fifth inning and earned the win against #6 Texas Lutheran on March 15 in Seguin, Texas. Kaufmann allowed zero earned runs in 5.0 innings, only allowed two hits and struck out eight. The Pioneers defeated #6 TLU 7-2. |

Josh Moses*, Junior (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) – Rightfielder Moses hit .583 (7-of-12) in the Pioneers' three-game series against #6 Texas Lutheran in Seguin, Texas. Moses had two doubles, one triple, one homerun, three walks, four RBI and a .667 on-base percentage. In their 7-2 win on March 15, Moses went 2-of-4 with a solo homerun, a walk and two runs scored. On March 16, Moses was 2-of-3 with a double, a walk and one run scored in the 15-5 loss. In the second game of the doubleheader Moses was 3-of-5 with a double, a triple, a walk, three RBI and one run scored. |
