Pioneers name athletes of the week, Duax earns WIAC honors

Women's Basketball - Maiah Domask, Sophomore (Waupun, Wis.) - Guard/Forward Domask led UW-Platteville to a 1-1 record during the week as the Pioneers defeated Carroll University (Wis.), 73-66 and lost to Loras College (Iowa) in the Pediatric Cancer Awareness Game, 56-65. Domask has had four consecutive double-doubles the past four games and five for the season. Domask opened the week of games by scoring 12 points and pulling down 14 rebounds against Carroll. Domask scored 17 points converting 7-of-15 (46.7 percent), 11 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal against Loras. On the season, Domask is averaging a double-double; 12.4 points and 11.5 rebounds. |

Men's Basketball - Robert Duax*, Senior (Dubuque, Iowa) - Forward Duax led the Pioneers to a 2-0 record to help the team improve to 5-2 on the season. Duax averaged 24.5 points, shot 63.3 percent (19-of-30) from the field and 61.5 percent (8-of-13) from 3-point range over the week. Against Cardinal Stritch on Dec. 4th Duax posted 18 points in 19 minutes and added two steals. In the win over Central on Dec. 8th Duax scored 31 points with a 70.5 shooting percentage (12-of-17), 66 percent from 3-point range (4-of-6) and added four rebounds, four assists and two steals. |

Wrestling - Jon Goetz, Senior (West Bend, Wis.) - 184 lbs. Goetz moved his season record to 4-0 with two dual meet victories vs UWSP and UWEC. Goetz sealed the victory for his team vs UWEC in the final bout of the meet. He is currently ranked #2 in the nation at 184lbs. |
