Pioneers name athletes of the week, Buchholz earns WIAC honors

Women's Basketball - Kassie Buchholz*, Senior (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) - Guard Buchholz helped lead the Pioneers in a 76-61 victory over Luther (Iowa) on Nov. 28. She had 13 points while shooting 5-of-10 (50 percent) from the floor, 3-of-7 (42.9 percent) from beyond the arc. Buchholz also chipped in six rebounds, three assists, one blocked shot and one steal in the victory.

Men's Basketball - Quentin Shields, Sophomore (Chicago, Ill.) - Guard Shields earned MVP honors after his 21 points led the Pioneers to a win over host WashU in the championship game of the 35th Annual Lopata Classic on Dec. 1. Shields helped secure the win with three 3-pointers and 15 of his 21 points coming in the second half. In their Nov. 30 win over Alma, Shields led the Pioneers with 15 points while adding six rebounds and four assists. |

Wrestling - Lucius Rinehart, Sophomore (Evansville, Wis.) - Heavyweight Rinehart went 4-0 with 3 bonus point wins and an 8-2 decision in the finals to capture 1st place at the MSOE Invitational. |
