Four to be inducted into Hall of Fame
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville will induct four new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, Oct. 20 on Bo Ryan Court in Williams Fieldhouse.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville will induct four new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, Oct. 20 in Velzy Commons in Ullsvik Hall.
The Class of 2018 includes:
- Bobbi (Erickson) Maxwell '02
- Brooke (Kaiser) Elmer '02
- Dave Hahn '02
- Eric Hamkins '84

Bobbi (Erickson) Maxwell
Maxwell was a thrower on the Pioneer track and field team. She was an NCAA Division III All-American for her fourth-place finish in the hammer throw at the 2001 outdoor nationals and for her fifth-place finish in the 20-pound weight throw at the 2001 indoor nationals. Maxwell was a WIAC conference champion for her performance in the weight throw in 2000. She also competed on the UW-Platteville volleyball team and was named the 2001 UW-Platteville Athlete of the Year. The Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin native graduated magna cum laude, and she is now a senior project engineer with MSA Professional Services.
Brooke (Kaiser) Elmer
Elmer was on the Pioneer volleyball team during the 2000 and 2001 seasons. During both of these years, Elmer earned All-Midwest regional and WIAC first-team conference honors. She ranks fourth in school history for her 140 blocks in a single season, and she owns the record for career attack percentage at .323 percent. The Warren, Illinois native graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration, and she is a senior program manager at Healthtrust.
Dave Hahn
Hahn was a thrower on the Pioneer track and field team. He earned NCAA All-American honors for the weight and hammer throw competitions during the 2000 and 2001 indoor and outdoor seasons. In addition to his athletic achievements, Hahn was the UW-Platteville Male Scholar-Athlete and the Pioneer Student-Athlete Advisory Council Leadership Award recipient for the 2000-01 academic year. The Janesville, Wisconsin native graduated magna cum laude, and he currently works at UW-Whitewater as an admissions representative and assistant coach for its track and field team.
Eric Hamkins
Hamkins was a competitor on the Pioneer men's gymnastics team from 1980-1984. He was the NCAA Division II champion in the parallel bars competition in 1983, and he was the NAIA champion in the parallel bars in 1984. The UW-Platteville men's gymnastics team also voted him the most valuable player on the team for three years. The Racine, Wisconsin native graduated with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and he currently works as an engineer for HUSCO International.
