Pioneers name athletes of the week, Steffens earns WIAC honors

Women's Soccer - Caelyn Steffens, Freshman (Normal, Ill./Normal Community) - Forward Steffens led the attack for UW-Platteville this week, recording four out of the six goals scored by the Pioneers. Against Viterbo, Steffens scored her first goal 14 minutes into the first half, breaking the single season scoring record for UW-Platteville. Steffens secured the victory with the game winning goal with just three minutes to play. In the Pioneers 2-0 conference victory over UW-Eau Claire Steffens earned both goals. Steffens has accumulated 21 goals and 4 assists for 46 points on the season. |

Women's Soccer - Kylee Colwell, Freshman (Plainfield, Ill./North) - Defender Colwell led the defense for the Pioneers two victories this week against Viterbo and UW-Eau Claire. Colwell was a key contributor at both center back and holding mid. Colwell was tasked with, and successfully shut down, leading scorers in both opponents. Colwell totaled 180 minutes of play this week. |

Football - Sean Studer, Senior (Manhattan, Ill./Lincoln Way Central) - Running back Sean Studer accounted 217 yards on 30 carries on Saturday against River Falls. Studer also had 5 touchdowns in the game. Studer played a pivotal role in the Pioneers offense. Studer's 7.2 yards per carry was huge for the Pioneers success on offense. |

Football - Tyler Reinhardt, Junior (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) - Safety Reinhardt had 8 total tackles in Saturday's game against River Falls. Reinhardt also had an interception and a pass break up in the game. Reinhardt continues to be the focal point on the Pioneer defense. |

Football - Mike Pratl, Senior (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) - Kicker Pratl was perfect on his PAT's against River Falls on Saturday. Pratl netted 7 PAT's. Pratl continues to improve every week for the Pioneers. |

Men's Soccer - Mason Spang, Senior (Pewaukee, Wis./Kettle Moraine) - Spang played 90 minutes in the ranked battle between #22 UW-Platteville and #14 St. Norbert. Spang effectively shut down his side of the field and made a number of dangerous runs. |
