Cross Country Teams earn All-Academic Honors
The women's and men’s team along with four individuals of the UW-Platteville Cross Country teams were acknowledged by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association in the organization's 2016 NCAA Division III All-Academic Honors.

The women's and men's team along with four individuals of the UW-Platteville Cross Country teams were acknowledged by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association in the organization's 2016 NCAA Division III All-Academic Honors.
The Pioneer Women's team was named All-Academic Team after earning a cumulative grade point average of 3.51 on a 4.0 scale, up from a 3.27 the previous year. The Men's team was named an All-Academic Team after earning a cumulative grade point average of 3.22. Teams needed to accomplish a cumulative GPA of 3.10 to qualify for the recognition. This is the third year in a row that the women's team has been recognized for achieving All-Academic Honors.
All-Academic Honors were also given to student-athletes that have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and finished in the top-25 percent of their respective regional. Three women and one man from the UW-Platteville Cross Country teams earned All-Academic honors.
Senior Chelsey Heiden along with sophomores Katie Wardinski and Hannah Ihlenfeldt earned All-Academic honors for the first time. Heiden finished ninth at the NCAA Midwest Regional qualifying to the NCAA National Meet. Wardinski earned All-Region honors with her 26th place Regional finish. Ihlenfeldt finished 65th out of 264 finishers to be in the top-25 percent at the Regional Championships.
Sophomore Zach Lee earned Cross Country All-Academic honors for the second year in a row. Lee finished 37th at the NCAA Midwest Regional just missing top-35 All-Region Honors.
