Laufenberg joins Cross Country/Track and Field Staff
Patti Laufenberg has been announced as the newest addition to the track and field/Cross Country coaching staff.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Patti Laufenberg has been announced as the newest addition to the track and field/Cross Country coaching staff.
A Waunakee, Wisconsin native, Laufenberg comes back to Southern Wisconsin after spending two years at Converse College in South Carolina where she assisted with coaching distance, sprints and jumps. With the Pioneers, her primary responsibility will include recruiting, meet management and coaching short sprints.
"Patti was highly recommended by multiple coaches for her work ethic and personable demeanor." Said Head Track and Field Coach Chris Rotzenberg. "She will bring a fresh perspective to the cross country and track and field teams for not just the athletes, but the coaching staff as well. We are incredibly excited to see Patti use her knowledge and accomplishments as an athlete to better prepare the UW-Platteville athletes achieve their goals."
"She will provide athletes with another resource" added Head Cross Country Coach Tom Antczak. "Her accomplishments as an athlete will provide our athletes with relatable insight into being a successful athlete."
Attending Carthage College as an undergraduate student, Laufenberg became a six-time CCIW Conference Champion during her four-year tenure with the Track & Field Team. She competed in the sprints, relays (4x100, 4x400, DMR), and triple jump. Laufenberg qualified to the 2012 and 2013 Division III Outdoor Championships before earning All-American status in the 400m at both the Indoor and Outdoor National Championships of 2014. She capped her career at the 2014 Outdoor NCAA Championships with a record breaking performance setting a new school record of 55.82 in the 400m.
Laufenberg earned a Bachelor's Degree in exercise sports science from Carthage College before earning a Master of Arts in Teaching - Elementary degree from Converse College.
