Cross Country competes at Blugold Invite
The UW-Platteville men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the Blugold Invitational on Friday at Whitetail Golf Course.
COLFAX, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Blugold Invitational on Friday at Whitetail Golf Course.
The men's reserve team scored a 641 for 22nd-place, while UW-La Crosse won the meet with 54 points. Sophomore Nick Wagner led the team and scored 111 with a time of 27:39.87 for an 8:55 pace. Junior Evan Morgan scored 118 points and crossed the finish line at the27:51.27 mark. Junior Garret Wernecke crossed the finish line at the 28:10.24 mark while Mitchell Frager scored 138 points with a time of 28:35.68. Matthew Smith rounded out the Pioneers top five with a time of 28:46.43.
The women's team only had four reserve runners compete so no team score was recorded. Sophomore Teagan Seneczko ran a time of 25:10.76 for 180th place out of 424 runners. Freshman Jennifer Bajorek placed 337 with at time of 27:24.76. Freshman Mariah Kammerude ran a time of 29:47.66 while fellow rookie Danielle Johnson clocked a time of 30:00.78.
UW-Platteville will host the Pioneer Invitational on Oct. 12, which will be a unique race where the men will start at 10:30 a.m. and three minutes later the women will start in anticipation for both races to finish at the same time.
