Cross Country competes at Beloit Olde English Classic
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville cross country teams competed at the Beloit Olde English Classic at Leeson Park on Saturday.
BELOIT, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville cross country teams competed at the Beloit Olde English Classic at Leeson Park on Saturday.
The men's team finished 2nd out of seven teams with junior Evan Morgan leading the way with ninth-place and scoring eight points with a time of 28:45.9. Sophomore Nick Wagner finished the eight-kilomoter course in 28:50.4 for 10th-place. Freshman Cole Shurbert-Hetzel crossed the finish line in 29:10.9, good for 15th-place while junior Ethan Shanks recorded a time of 29:19.8 for 17th-place. To round out the Pioneers top-five junior Garret Wernecke finished in 18th-place with a time of 29:19.9.
On the women's side no team score was recorded, but sophomore Teagan Seneczko finished in 17th-place with at time of 22:00.9. Freshman Jennifer Bajorek finished the five-kilometer race in 22:43.4, good for 27th-place. Fellow freshman Danielle Johnson crossed the finish line at the 24:56.4 mark, good for 49th-place.
The Pioneers return to action on Saturday Sept. 28 at the Griak Invitational in St. Paul, Minn.
