Carlson Named To All-Region Team
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Junior Emma Carlson of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville volleyball team earned First Team All-Region honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) it was announced earlier this week.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Junior Emma Carlson of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville volleyball team earned First Team All-Region honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) it was announced earlier this week.
Carlson, who was also named to the All-WIAC team last week, found her way into the Pioneers record books following an impressive junior season in which she surpassed the 1,000 career kills mark. The Dixon, Illinois native was ninth in NCAA DIII and second in the WIAC in total kills (450) while posting a .243 hitting percentage and 4.17 kills per set. The junior finished third in the conference with 44 service aces and added 2.38 digs per, good for third on the team. Carlson reached double digit kills in 26 of 29 matches and posted 15 double-doubles. She was named WIAC Offensive Player of the Week twice, including a career-high 29 kills in a four-set win over Augustana (Ill.) on September 16. That total is the third-most in a single match in program history.
